Join us as we imagine ourselves journeying through the orchard while Mattie Beason leads a lesson in cider making and history. You’ll learn from a cider expert while tasting four ciders in this 60 minute session.

The Ultimate Gluten-free Dinner
Primal Food & Spirits, Durham
Our first ever gluten-free event! Join us for a three course served dinner by one of Durham’s most talented chefs, Tim Lyons of Primal and Blu Seafood. Tim has put together a creative and flavorful gluten-free menu which will be paired with various ciders curated by Mattie Beason of Black Twig Cider House. You’ll also enjoy a wonderful dessert prepared by Joe Parker of JP’s Pastry, the Carolinas most renowned gluten-free pastry chef.

PNC Club at the Durham Bulls Stadium
It’s time to settle the score once and for all and there is no better place to have this competition than in the confines of the PNC VIP Club at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Get ready for 5 innings of small plate pairings crafted by creative local chefs. It is up for you to decide if Wine or Beer pair better with each of these offerings. Great way to start off the Durham Bulls season with a special experience.

Tacos y Tequila Night at Dos Perros
Dos Perros Restaurant, Durham
Viva Mexico! This festive event will provide you with an evening full of sweet and savory delights, Mexican style. The ever diverse and talented Charlie Deal of Dos Perros, JuJu and Jujube restaurants will create six different types of tacos for you to sample along with sips of six different and unexpected flavors of Tequila. Order your favorite type of Margarita and mingle while munching in this cocktail-buffet style set up. We’ve got a fun pairing prepared for you that will have you ordering tequila with your dessert for years to come!

Jazz Brunch at NanaSteak
Take a local trip to the Big Easy on Sunday and enjoy live jazz music while brunching on savory items prepared by famed chef Scott Howell’s kitchen at NanaSteak. The varied menu has something to offer anyone and the mimosas and Bellinis are sure to keep the conversation and laughter flowing. Since every good meal deserves something sweet at the finish, we will offer a luscious buffet of goodies from a handful of fabulous Durham bakers.

Salt & Smoke – TASTE 2017-Style with Live Music

TASTE 2017 honors Kevin Callaghan, acclaimed chef/owner of Acme in nearby Carrboro, NC, and the originator of Salt & Smoke, a traveling festival of real southern food and music. As Kevin would say – “Get Your South On” and join us for a casual celebration of BBQ, oysters, beer, music and authentic delicious southern foods. The Rickhouse overlooks the famed Durham Athletic Park, the original home of the Durham Bulls – and you can sit, stand or stroll around our southern-style BBQ atmosphere and backdrop.
