THE WINE MASTERS
Fred Dexheimer is the sommelier, mixologist & event specialist at Straw Valley Food & Drink at The Black House & the founder-proprietor of Juiceman Consulting. He’s North Carolina’s only certified Master Sommelier, one of only 214 in the world and 135 in the U.S.. Fred’s mission is to help educate the public about wine, to make it more accessible and enjoyable – he wants us all to drink more wine. His wine knowledge is extensive and his enthusiasm is off-the-charts, in a good way!
Sheri Sauter Morano is North Carolina’s only certified Master of Wine, one of only about 3 dozen in the U.S. She was one of the youngest people ever to have earned this designation. She’s also a wine consultant, educator, writer and wine competition judge. In 2012, she founded the Triangle Wine School (trianglewineschool.com) to offer the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) certifications to wine lovers and trade professionals in the Raleigh-Durham area. Sheri’s wine knowledge is encyclopedic, and her passion is education. We’re very fortunate that she lives in this area!
